Osborne Court

Osborne Court is a wonderful example of Art Deco style architecture and building, and is listed locally as a building of historical interest.

The building’s impressive north elevation, visible from Osborne Avenue, shows a four storey red brick building with rendered bay windows. The metal windows are original. The south elevation is the same as the north although a visible basement makes it five storeys in appearance. All elevations have rendered bay windows with Art Deco gates in the west elevation leading to an internal secured courtyard for residents..

The building is also located within the South Jesmond Conservation Area. The Character Statement states that Osborne Court, the Art Deco style apartment block situated adjacent to the County Cricket Ground, was the last plot within this sub-area to be developed. It is a period piece, the elegant symmetrical façade is neutral within the conservation area. It is a red brick construction with white full height projecting bays incorporating curved glass. There are five communal entrances each with their own lift servicing all flats in the specific block.

Brannen & Partners have managed this development for in excess of 20 years, and have enjoyed a close working relationship with the Council of Management of the Management Company.
